Begin with breath awareness exercises, which help calm the mind and connect the mother with the infant. Continue with gentle stretches for the neck, shoulders, upper body, and spine. Standing poses like the goddess pose is great for strengthening leg muscles, while the tree pose is good for improving balance. Seated hip opening poses, such as the squatting pigeon and butterfly poses, help release tension in the hip area. The class ends with alternate nostril breathing to calm the body and mind.
