Description

This is our signature two-hour Andiappan practice focused on twisting movements. Master Mahesh and Master Carol will guide you through a sequence of effective twisting postures that stretch and strengthen abdominal and back muscles. 

Begin with dynamic warm-ups including lateral stretches, chest opening poses to release any tension in the upper body. Twisting poses will first be introduced in a standing position such as the bookstand pose and revolved triangle pose, then slowly adding forwarding bends and balancing elements to build strength and focus. Move into various positions including seated, kneeling, prone and supine twistings to stretch out the different muscle groups. You will also have a chance to challenge yourself in doing inversions with twisting variations.

You are reminded to be aware of your own body condition before going into advanced postures. Avoid deeper twisting if you encounter any discomforts in the body.
